TSMC multifunctional platform

The ELPROS® Time-Synchronised Measurement & Control (TSMC) unit is a multifunctional platform designed for advanced measurement and control applications.

A key feature of the TSMC device family is ultra-precise global time synchronization, typically achieved using GNSS or IEEE 1588 PTP synchronization technologies. Synchronization accuracy better than 50 ns is supported.

The TSMC unit measures synchrophasor data, including currents, voltages, symmetrical components, and frequency, as well as waveform voltage and current signals and digital status indications from the power system. Its high sampling rate enables precise monitoring and analysis of fast dynamic phenomena across all voltage levels.

The ELPROS® TSMC unit is suitable for a wide range of applications throughout the power system, from generation and transmission to distribution networks, while also supporting modern technologies such as renewable energy sources, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, and digital substations.

Integration with higher-level monitoring and control systems, including WAMS/WAMPAC platforms such as the ELPROS® WAProtector™ system and applications based on the UniFusion platform, provides a comprehensive technical foundation for complex regional and wide-area monitoring, protection, and control solutions.

    When integrated with WAMS/WAMPAC applications and telemetry control systems, the device enables comprehensive real-time observation and analysis of dynamic power-system behaviour.
